On Business Monday Magic today, we looking at how you can maximize your time for productivity.
Time management is really life management. It is the management of yourself. "The way you use your time affects everything that happens to you. It tells the world how much you value your life. Start by saying," My life is precious and important, and I value every single minute and hour of it. Therefore, I resolve to use my time efficiently and well”.
Time mastery is your scarcest resource; preparation is often the key to making the most use of your time. There are two components of time mastery; they are the Goal mastery and Self mastery.
GOAL MASTERY: having clarity about where I am going and where I am driving the business is vital to my success. The first key to goal mastery is having some, the second is putting them on paper and the third is to set what I call S.M.A.R.T goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Result-oriented and Time-frame). It is very important to reward yourself or celebrate every time you achieve one of your goals.
BASICS OF GOAL MASTERY
To set goals we must know few things about the basics of Goal mastery that apply to every business and life in general.
Start first by writing down your vision. This is the overall ‘goal’ you want to achieve in business/life. To put it simply, it should be truly inspiring and engaging for yourself, your team and your customers/communities….
Once you have that, write down your mission statement. The mission shows you and your team how you will reach your vision. It’s about four major areas of your business.
VISION AND MISSION STATEMENTS
VISION: your engaging and inspiring guiding light.
MISSION: how you reach your vision
What business are you in?
Who is your team?
Who are your targets/customers?
What makes you unique?
CULTURE STATEMENTS
1. Three values that are important to you as the owner.
2. Three values that are important to your team members.
3. Three values that are important to your targets/customers.
4. Three values that are important to the success of the business/life.
Once you have your mission sorted out, you’ll develop your culture statement.
This lets you and of course those who join your team, know what’s acceptable and what’s not as they go about their job each day. Finally, you need to write down all the Milestones or goals that show you and your team that you are making progress towards the mission and vision of your business/life.
SELF MASTERY: I must use my internal discipline and the discipline of my coach to keep myself focused and achieving. This is all about planning your day and then working your plan, it is really about being clear on where you want to go, what you have to do, and hen working your plan to get there. Self management is taking responsibility for one’s own behaviour, it is one the important mastery and skill you must learn to be among the top twenty in your field, in fact life without self management is like a ship without a compass, an aircraft without a pilot, you know the disaster that can pose? You get drowned and lost into thin air like a space ship lost through escape velocity. To stay relevant, motivated and get your work done faster in a smart way, practice these six steps to achieve all that you want in life, the universe will get you connected to people that will help you speed up your work. The “SAVERS”, (Silent, Affirmation, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, Scribing).
FINAL NOTE
Remember, time mastery is your ability to manage your time, as much as any other practice in your career as an entrepreneur/volunteer or an executive, it will determine your success or failure.
Time is the only indispensible and irreplaceable resources of accomplishment. It is your most precious asset.
